As an inhabitant of Ferrel, I find out new interesting facts about this place every single day.  Today, I will share 3 of them with you.

Did you know that less then 50 years ago a nuclear power plant started to be built there?

The construction stopped after an angry mob of habitats from Ferrel (the small town where the power plant was being built) marched on the streets. From 1976 until 1978, often hundreds of people walked, rode bikes, tractors and even Donkeys defending their land from the nuclear power. Finally, the people won!

And… Did you know that the mascot of the little town of Ferrel is a Donkey?

In the past, most of the transportation of fish, agriculture products and people, was made possible by donkeys. This animal became a symbol of the town, even that there are lesser and lesser donkeys around.

I bet you did not know that this town was named by Pirates.

According to the tales told around, some pirates docked here and said “Aqui Ferremos”, that meant: “Let´s stay here” and like that the name “Ferrel” was born.
