Portugal is known by our amazing and inexpensive wines. The west cost area is no exception. If you are around, do not miss the 3 following wineries:
Quinta da Almiara
“Quinta da Almiara is a family business that has been dedicated to the production of high quality red and white wines since 1980. “Adega Mãe was born from an old passion that had always lain in the heart of the Riberalves Group: wine. It has an area of around 99 acres for vineyards at Quinta da Archeira estate in Ventosa and a production capacity of 1.2 million litres a year. It is therefore able to produce a full variety of wines.” at adegamae.pt
Quinta de pancas
“Quinta de Pancas is located 45 kilometers northwest of Lisbon, at Santo Estevão and Triana parish, the so-called “Alto Concelho de Alenquer” next to the place of Pancas. The lands of Alenquer extend between the Serra de Montejunto and the flatlands of the right bank of the Tagus river, unfolding in a landscape of mountains, hills, valleys and plains.
The property has about 50 hectares of vineyards. Currently the red varieties planted in this property are Cabernet Sauvignon, Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Merlot, Castelão, Alicante Bouschet, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Petit Verdot and Malbec. As for the white grapes these are Arinto, Chardonnay and Vital.” at companhiadasquintas.com.
